John Muir Award

The John Muir Award encourages people of all backgrounds to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places. Participants learn about the special attributes of wild places and the Award helps them Discover, Explore, Conserve and Share their experience of wild places.

We are delighted to announce that the redesigned John Muir Award will be open for registrations from Tuesday 25 March 2025.

Initially, this will just be for the Wild Places Guardian level, previously known as the Discovery Award. Further levels, referred to as the Wild Places Protector and Wild Places Champion will be rolled out in due course.

The best way to stay up to date with Award news is to sign up for our Award update emails. You can do that here. Our February update with more information about the new process and resources can be found here.

We hope that you will join us in delivering the refreshed Award and inspire people to help conserve, protect and restore wild places.
