Letter to Secretary of State regarding peat burning
In January 2021 the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs announced there would be a partial ban on burning of deep peat in the uplands of England.
Following the annoucement, Wildlife and Countryside LINK members wrote to the Secretary of State pointing out that the various qualifications and limits of the ban would prevent it from effectively protecting peatlands.
The Trust as a member of Wildlife and Countryside LINK added its name to this letter, which is available to download below.
