Trust response to Scottish Government's Onshore Wind Policy Statement
The Scottish Government's consultation on its draft Onshore Wind Policy Statement seeks views on a target of adding 8-12 GW of installed onshore wind capacity by 2030, ways to overcome financial barriers to deployment and ways to manage land for nature's recovery at wind farm sites.
The Trust's response focuses on the questions where we felt we could make a useful contribution. We have provided views on how the expansion target can be achieved whilst protecting Scotland's finest wild places, increasing the share of onshore wind in Scotland that is in community ownership and ways good practice guidance and planning policy can better protect peatland.
