Trust response to Open Space Strategy consultation
Under the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019, Local Planning Authorities have a duty to publish Open Space Strategies. These are intended to guide the development, use and maintainance of open spaces near to where people live, so that these spaces support improved health and wellbeing, improved biodiversity, are places for learning and discovery and community regeneration.
The Trust's response to this consultation highlights that the protection and enhancement of wild places close to where people live ought to be considered as part of desiging an Open Space Strategy.
