My Favourite Tree

A huge monster
he stands still.

No leaves
but green ferns cover him.

His branches broken
hang down.

A strange Christmas tree grows out
The top of his head.

Other trees stand back.

Bright sunlight
shines all around.

Old and gentle
so birds sit and rest.
