Trust objects to telecoms mast in Ben Lui Wild Land Area
The Trust has considered an application for a 25m high telcoms mast at Coire Garbh, Arrochar, proposed within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and the Ben Lui Wild Land Area, and decided to object.
The mast is proposed in a remote, wild place, characterised by the absence of manmade infrastructure and it is not clear who, if anybody, would benefit from the development.
We have previously stated concerns about the rollout of the Shared Rural Network Programme, which is resulting in lots of individual applications for telecoms masts in remote parts of Scotland.
You can find our objection and our position on the Shared Rural Network programme available to download below.
Update: In November 2023 the application for the proposed mast at Arrochar was withdrawn by the Applicant.
