Shared Rural Network - Trust objects to three masts in Wild Land Areas
The Trust's concerns remain over the Shared Rural Network which is inflicting a significant and unjustified impact on wild places.
Today we have objected to three masts proposed within the Central Highlands and Fisherfield - Letterewe - Fannichs Wild Land Areas. All of the masts are proposed in very wild and remote places, far from any residential areas or rural businesses. The Applicants fail to provide any site-specific demonstration of the need for the developments and we do not believe that the significant detrimental impact on the WLAs are justified.
You can find our objections and our position on the Shared Rural Network programme available to download below.
Update: On 13 November 2023 the Highland Council decided to refuse the application for prior approval of the proposed mast at Blarnabee. The Council cited the significant detrimental impact on the Wild Land Area in their decision.
