Call for views on Land Reform Bill - Trust response
The Trust has responded to the Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee's Call for Views on the Scottish Government's Land Reform Bill.
The Bill as drafted introduces:
- new requirements on landholdings over 3,000ha to produce and consult on land management plans.
- restrictions on the sale of land over 1,000ha pending a lotting decision process (through which the impact of a proposed sale on the local community would be considered).
- advance notice for communities about landholdings coming up for sale.
- a duty on Scottish Ministers to publish a model Land Management Tenancy.
