John Muir Award update
Find out the latest on the redesigned John Muir Award - the Trust's 27-year-old environmental scheme - due to launch in March 2025.
The Trust’s engagement team is busy working on the redesign of the John Muir Award to ensure closer alignment to our strategic objectives. The redesigned Award is due to launch in March 2025, when we will start accepting new Proposal Forms.
In September we invited Award providers and leaders to attend a series of workshops to explore: the Award criteria, funding models, reporting and impact, and resources. Many thanks to everyone who has been involved in the process so far.
The workshops also inspired some great discussions about how to ensure that the John Muir Award remains free for all participants at the point of use and how to ensure it is financially sustainable into the future. This provided valuable insight and constructive feedback, which will inform next steps.
Behind the scenes, we are streamlining the Award management processes to enable us to make efficiencies, improve our data collection methods and ensure improved reporting capabilities. This will help us better demonstrate the John Muir Award’s impact on people and wild places for the benefit of all.
- Resources survey: We are inviting Award leaders to complete an online survey about resources to support the Award. We will use this data to create some new resources to best support Award leaders. If you are an Award leader, please complete our resources survey here.
