Autumn 2019 John Muir Award Newsletter
Read about how we've been inspired by young people, Keeping It Wild in London, and seven years of the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The Autumn issue of ourJohn Muir Award newsletter – with updates from the Trust’s main engagement initiative - has a young people and nature theme running through it.
Inspired by Year of Young People 2018 in Scotland, and #iwill4nature across the UK , we’ve collected research and feedback, example initiatives, and young people’s stories to help highlight ways that our youth can, and do, engage with and take action for nature.
A range of new resources are featured, including highlighting our new work in Wales to connect people with Ardaloedd Gwyllt Cymru (wild places of Wales), our updated Sustainability Resource Guide, and improvements to the Record eBook, and new The Lost Words posters.
There’s a reflection of how the National Lottery Heritage Fund has helped set up our activity in England, and a spotlight on our Keeping It Wild partnership that is connecting young Londoners with their natural heritage.
We also explore how the John Muir Award is funded and how much it costs behind the scenes – inviting opportunities for organisations to help keep it free and give something back.
