Restoring habitats
- The Trust laid the groundwork for increased deer management efforts going forward, working with the West Knoydart Deer Management Group to establish sustainable targets that support native woodland restoration, carbon sequestration and open access for all.
Collaborating with partners
- We supported the Knoydart Foundation’s series of ‘Community Climate Conversations.’ Running through 2021, talks focused on carbon and sustainability, delivered by Trust staff and guest speakers. The Trust’s Carbon Officer delivered a talk about carbon finance, exploring the role this could play in helping the Foundation achieve their objectives of environmental, social and economic sustainability for the community and land under their care.
- The John Muir Trust and Knoydart Foundation are exploring opportunities to establish a community-focused carbon finance pilot in 2022, through Wilder Carbon.
